I started this costume with the easiest parts so I could motivate myself. The fabric is a thicker viskose jersey from jpstoffe. In fact all of the materials are from them. For the scarf I cut out a square, folded it and sew it together. Then you get this pretty triangle.
For most of the gloves I made, I simply trace my fingers and sew everything together. I put them on and trace where I need to cut the fabric for that fingerless look. And then I just cut it – thats it.
I used a white jersey and made sure it’s not too see-through. Then I used a normal top as a pattern and traced it onto my jersey. I just cut everything out and sew the sides together. After that I had to make the neckline pretty and fold the fabric over to sew it. And thats how you make a simple top.
For this part I used fake leather and sew alongside both edges to give it a nice belt look. I attached two press buttons and sew this orange strap on top of it. Thats it for the main belt. Now we take a look at the fabric underneath the belt. I put everything on my mannequin and draped the fabric the way I thought looked good. Then I marked the line where I needed to cut the fabric. I took it off my mannequin and folded the fabric in half, so it would be symmetrical. After I was happy with the result, I sew some gold bias tape around the edges for a nice and clean look. Then I attached 3 more press button to the belt and fabric, so they stay in their place.
These pockets are magnetic !!
Watch me make this Jumpsuit. It has a lot of pockets. I used a pattern from Simplicity. You can find the link in the material list 🙂
I originally wanted to make the Jacket myself, BUT RT restocked their shop and I kinda wanted to have the original Yang Jacket. So I bought it 🙂 And while buying the jacket, I also purchased these cool socks, which are in the original artwork. The Jacket is a bit longer and bigger than the one Yang wears in the show. But I love it <3
